Composer's Statement

Each artistic gesture is meant to address one of two chief aims: to reflect the world as is, or to imagine the world as it may be. In any and all circumstances, whether examining the realms of past & present or imagining a future or otherworldly realm, the artist cannot present an objective study, instead fusing the artistic vision with their own unique perspective.
To achieve one's artistic aims, one must be free to employ any means, any style, any form at one's disposal. Each work must be evaluated on its own merits, not dismissed as "too conventional" or "too cavalier," "too simple" or "too complex."
My goal as a composer is to explore the gamut of musical expression, from uncompromising modernism to the music of the masses.
